Meeting someone new should be exciting, empowering and joyful - and staying safe while you explore those connections is important to us. While we manually review reports and work to maintain a respectful space, safety also comes from trusting your instincts, setting clear boundaries, and knowing we've got your back if something feels off. Here are some things to keep in mind.

GETTING TO KNOW SOMEONE ON GRAZER

Keep conversations on Grazer

Our app is designed for text-only chats, with no images or videos - so everyone starts on equal footing. We recommend getting to know someone slowly and staying on Grazer until you feel comfortable.

Don't share personal information too soon

Avoid giving out your full name, address, or daily routine early on. Keep your contact info (like phone number or email) private until you're ready, and never share details that could make you vulnerable.

Never send money

Even if someone says they're in an emergency, please don't send money, crypto, gift cards, or banking info. Scammers often create false urgency. If someone asks for financial help, report them to us.

Be cautious of love bombing or pressure

If someone seems too intense too soon, avoids questions, or pushed for a relationship before building trust, pause and reflect. Real connections take time.

MEETING IN PERSON

Take your time

There's no rush. You never owe anyone a meetup - even if you've chatted for a while. Your safety and comfort come first.

Meet in public

Choose a café, park, or other public place with people around. Don't meet at their place (or yours) the first few times.

Tell someone your plans

Let a friend or family member know who you're meeting, where you'll be, and when you expect to check in.

Sort your own transport

Bring your own car, bike, or ride-share - anything that lets you leave when you want to. Don't rely on your date for a lift.

Trust your instincts

If something doesn't feel right, you can end the date early - no explanation needed. Ask for help from staff if needed.

Keep an eye on your things

Stay mindful of your drink and belongings. Don't leave them unattended, especially if you're in a bar or café.

We're proud to support LGBTQ+ users all over the world - but we also know some countries aren't as safe as they should be. Consent is everything

You never owe someone your time, your attention, or anything more. If you're meeting up, make sure both people feel comfortable - and that consent is freely given and ongoing. It's okay to change your mind at any time.

Be kind

Grazer is a space for empathy, not pressure. Everyone deserves respect - even if you're not vibing. If someone crosses a line, you can always report it.

REPORTING & SUPPORT

You can report or block anyone at any time

If someone's behaviour makes you uncomfortable, tap the three dots in the discovery or chat page and hit report or block. Reports are reviewed manually, and the other person is never notified.

Something went wrong? We'll support you

If you've had a bad experience, it's not your fault. You're not alone - and we're here to help however we can, whether that's removing someone from the app or just listening.
