GRAZER is a dating and friend-finding app for vegans and vegetarians, a space dedicated solely to the meat-free community. Founded in 2017 by Lewis Foster, GRAZER is available on iOS and Android.
GRAZER’s story
How it started
Lewis Foster went vegan in 2011 and wanted to work on something for the vegan movement. Dating and isolation had always been a real problem for the vegan community, so he set out to change that, and started building GRAZER.
2017
GRAZER first launched at Brighton VegFest in March 2017 and reached the top 50 free lifestyle apps on the App Store the same day.
2022
GRAZER successfully raised £486k from 210 investors in an equity crowdfunding campaign, to take the app to the next level.
Late 2022
We soon launched a new look for GRAZER, and introduced a friend-finding section to the app.
F*ck vegans
In early 2023 we launched the F*ck vegans campaign, a bold twist on anti-vegan sentiment, fronted by one of our investors, Bimini.
2024
In late 2024 GRAZER raised its Series A round, bringing its total investment to £1.24m. The focus was to improve the app before beginning our growth phase.
2026
In 2026, after 18 months of development, we launched a new GRAZER app with our first Premium features, and introduced content liking: you like a specific part of someone’s profile, not just the whole thing.
Get Greger Off Grazer
In October 2026 we made it our mission to get Dr Greger off GRAZER. Together we launched DateTheDoctor.com, in the hope of finding his plant person.
