What is Veganuary?
Veganuary is an annual campaign encouraging people to eat vegan for the month of January. It is run by a UK non-profit of the same name, founded in 2014, and is the largest recurring campaign of its kind worldwide.
Where the term comes from
The organisation was founded in the UK in 2014 by Jane Land and Matthew Glover, combining vegan and January. It began as a pledge campaign and now also works with food manufacturers and restaurant chains, which is why new vegan products commonly launch in January.
